For a split second he wished he were a girl,

their orgasms were never quite so untidy.

Why doesn't Singapore sell Grand Theft auto? I was looking around for a while, but then I realised that it's banned. Hence, I'm forced to cast Mini nova once again.

However, is this actually good for the gaming industry? GTA:SA, one of the hottest PS2 game, if not the hottest, as it sold more copies then others during the Christmas period, is also one of those which is extremely violent and stuff.

For the uninformed, GTA:SA is a game which focuses on the the crimes and gangs and stuff. While the blood and gore on this game isn't exactly high (it's rather low actually), the main thing about this game is that you can basically do anything. Jack cars, kill people, shoot people...anything. The great thing about this game is that it's very free on the player. There isn't exactly a rule saying that you have to do so and so. There are missions to complete, yes, but you can do it at your own time and leisure, after driving around the mountains, looking for hidden packages or something.

Of course, when freedom is involved, violence is involved. And so, could be the main reason as to why it's not being sold in Singapore. Cases where people (select few idiots, mind you) have shot people after the game just didn't help either.

However, as I've said before, those are the select few idiots who don't know how to think, and fortunately, the rest of the human race can. However, for some reason, we are forced to use other methods to obtain the game, when we are very willing to pay for an actual copy.

This is defiantely going to hurt the game industries. Especially with crap, but free games getting more and more popular. Games such as Maple and A3 or whatever (I've lost track). Heck, this game is on NF's list of "Must get in 2005", and yet it did not appear in Singapore. For those who have not tasted evil before, the joy of obtaining something for almost nothing (other then the bite of the electricity bills) will be pure bliss. Games can easily be obtained within 12 hours, 6 if you can connect to a good host. Compare that to those near insane prices that we are forced to pay, and only to find out that it does not even have multiplayer support, on top of a totally rubbish game (Doom 3, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4). The fact that you have not paid anything for a downloaded copy means that after you get it, felt that it's rubbish, you can simply drag it to the recycle bin. Other then time wasted, there is nothing to lose.

I still don't know why the Singapore gaming face is this bad. I mean, they are holding WCG this year, and it's an utter disgrace to see Singapore holding DOTA Allstars tournment. I mean, Warcraft 3, yes. But DOTA, one of the most unbalanced game (5.84c, for god's sake...), and one of the games that people make fun of once in a while. It's a game which should be played for fun, but not in a tournment level.

Oh well. Since they want it this way....

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I really appriciate it. It meant a lot to me as a friend of yours. I just hope that you will find strength to carry on. And I won't hope, because I know you will.
